Charlotte Mason Community- Relational Education

"Education is the science of relations." - Charlotte Mason
This Charlotte Mason Community is based on the educational  philosophy of Charlotte Mason. You can read more about this at this link:  https://www.amblesideonline.org/CM/20Principles.html
Topics are introduced to the student, giving the student at a young age a wide variety of interest.  As students grow in knowledge, they will begin to see relationships between different subjects.  They will begin to see how things work together.  This is why it is a relational education.

"Our aim in education is to give a full life. We owe it to them to initiate an immense number of interests. Life should be all living, and not merely a tedious passing of time; not all doing or all feeling or all thinking - the strain would be too great - but, all living; that is to say, we should be in touch wherever we go, whatever we hear, whatever we see, with some manner of vital interest."- Charlotte Mason

This group works to model the  Charlotte Mason ideas for education.

For the Children's Sake: Foundations of Education for Home and School

by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay is required reading for the group.

Group studies will be made available.  There is also an Ambleside Online facebook page, as well as, a forum.

"Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life" - Charlotte Mason

Self-education is the only possible education; the rest is mere veneer laid on the surface of a child's nature.”
― Charlotte M. Mason
"In the early days of a child's life it makes little apparent difference whether we educate with a notion of filling a receptacle, inscribing a tablet, moulding plastic matter, or nourishing a life, but as a child grows we shall perceive that only those ideas which have fed his life, are taken into his being; all the rest is cast away or is, like sawdust in the system, an impediment and an injury." (Towards a Philosophy of Education, pgs. 108-109) - Charlotte Mason
